Planting native provides many benefits for the environment and landowners:

Helps preserve biodiversity
- Attracts native wildlife including mammals, birds, butterflies and bees and other beneficial insects. Native wildlife much prefer native plants for their habitat, protective cover and food sources.
- By planting native, rather than non-native or invasive species, you reduce the spread of invasive species which can cause harm to our local ecosystems.
Low maintenance
- Require less watering as natives can usually thrive on rainfall alone.
- Natives out-compete more effectively with weeds because of their larger root systems.
- Little to no fertilizer or pesticides are needed as native plants have developed their own defenses against pests and diseases.
- Saves you time and money!
Environmental and public health benefits from less water usage and reduced fertilizer/pesticide use.
They are beautiful! Many native plants produce colorful flowers, fruit, seeds, and fall foliage.
