Where to Plant: The Redbud prefers well drained soils with varying pH levels. It also prefers full sun or light shade. However, partial shade is preferred in windy, dry areas.
Height and Uses: The Redbud can grow anywhere between 25-40 feet tall. It is often planted for its ornamental purposes because of its pinkish-red blossoms which can also attract many forms of wildlife.
Leaf Shape and Color: Redbud trees have small leaves that are either round or heart-shaped. They also grow small pink or purple flowers in the springtime, which grow along the entire length of the branches.
