City of Harrisonburg Rain Barrel Workshop
Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District staff occasionally hold a Rain Barrel Workshop in the City of Harrisonburg.
During the Workshop, participants learn how rain barrels can help conserve water and protect water quality. They also convert a heavy plastic pickle barrel into a functional rain barrel to take home and learn how to install and maintain their rain barrel.
Because participants make their own rain barrels, they should wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty and bring work gloves. They should also drive a vehicle that can transport a 55-gallon rain barrel and bring water to drink. Barrels, tools and other building supplies are provided.
Dates for upcoming workshops have not yet been determined.
