**Currently, we are not able to host volunteers, please check back later, or look out for other opportunities!**
General Description
Any interested person seeking to learn more about the work of the Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District (SVSWCD) has the opportunity to volunteer. Volunteers can assist/shadow employees within the office. Volunteers are not considered employees by the SVSWCD, but are required to adhere to SVSWCD policies and are required to complete all required paperwork. All SVSWCD volunteers must be 14 years or older at the time of volunteer dates. Students may use this program to meet academic requirements.
Once authorized, volunteers will be asked to provide a proposed work schedule and end of service date for SVSWCD scheduling purposes. Volunteers must sign a waiver acknowledging that their service will be provided without pay. Volunteers may be asked to complete an application and required paperwork for the federal background check outlined on the SVSWCD Volunteer Paperwork Checklist.
